Dusty’s Yacht Club at Dusty’s Landing opened on Thanksgiving Eve, November 25, 1992, as a private key club by R.C. Norris, a well-known attorney and local historian.

Dusty’s Landing, a marina located on a peninsula in the Portage Lakes, was acquired by R.C. In 1984. At that time, there were several cottages and buildings located on the property, one of which was a carriage house that was later converted for use as the yacht club in the early 1990’s.

R.C. wanted to create a spot for his friends and the locals to gather. Many nights you could stop in and hear him tell a story or two...and maybe break into song with some of his good friends. Anyone who knew R.C. will picture him laughing and enjoying fun times with friends in the bar.

The yacht club was eventually opened to the public and remains a favorite local spot for neighbors, friends and boaters to enjoy the patio in the summer and the fireplace in the winter.
